Hey all! I hope everyone has been being safe as we see more and more businesses opening back up. I know a lot of you have been back to work this last week and you’ve probably had all sorts of new experiences. Some good, some bad. Here’s hoping that you’d had more good to outweigh the bad.

Another thing that I feel needs to be addressed. I will in no way bring my political views into my patterns at any time. I feel this website should be a safe space for everyone. That said, I do not feel that Black Lives Matter is a political issue. It is an issue of human rights and human decency. I want to make sure that all of my Black and Brown sisters and brothers know that I stand with you. Your lives not only matter, they inspire, they teach, they love. You are important. Your lives more than just Matter. I am in no ways great with words, but I wanted to make sure that I stated that clearly.

ABOUT THIS Wrap:

This is the Walkiria Wrap. It is a lovely light weight wrap that is perfect for any time you might need a little extra coverage, either for warmth or modesty. It is great over a casual outfit, as a shawl over a party dress, or even as a coverup on the beach. The lace panels provide plenty of ventilation so that you wont get overly warm, but still plenty of coverage to ward off any chill.

I used a cotton blend for the display knit to guarantee the wrap would be perfect for any occasion. Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend is a 50/50 blend of cotton and polyester. It is a weight 3 DK yarn, but this shawl would be lovely in an array of different types and weights of yarn. Gauge is not super important for this piece. But, if you are looking to make a garment that is a particular size, make sure to make a gauge swatch. I stopped knitting at 59" long because I am rather short (4'11") so I didn't need my wrap any longer, however, you can make it as long as you need simply by adding rows.

Spoiler Alert: Are you loving this wrap? Next pattern release I will be showing you how to turn this gorgeous wrap into a full length kimono! The kimono will have 3 sizes (very similar to the sizes for the Wisteria Drops Kimono). The Walkiria Wrap is the base for the S/M kimono! Isn’t that exciting!! If that’s something you’d be interested in, make sure you’re subscribed to the mailing list so you can see when the next pattern drops!

Housekeeping:

The last thing I want to speak about before we get to the pattern, I wanted to let you all know about the Patreon I started for this website. I love being able to bring you all my designs free of charge. However, providing these patterns for free is, unfortunately, not free for me. Running a blog can actually cost quite a bit when you factor in the price of my domain, blog hosting, file storage, email client, etc. that I need to use in order to provide you all with easily available free patterns.

Because my web hosting costs have risen lately, I could do 1 of 2 things. 1. Add more ad modules to my site. Right now, I have as few ads as I can to keep them from taking over the content. BUT, I hate ads (most people do). So, I'm not too keen on adding more ads. And, 2. create a Patreon.

SO, I created a Patreon, and I hope that you all will help me continue my journey to making this small business even better!

There's more information about my Patreon and what perks you will get for your support! And, there’s some pretty nice perks if I do say so myself (I do, by the way. lol) Also, on my Patreon I will be sharing work in progress photos, sneak peaks, member polls, and hopefully in the near future, interactive member chats/videos. I hope you can take this journey with me.

And, never fear, my patterns will ALWAYS be free on my website. Nothing is going to change there. I will continue to provide free content for as long as I am able!

If you read this far, THANK YOU!

**OH! and as an introductory offer, From now until June 16th, anyone who joins at the Pattern Collector level will have access to The Vault as well. Access ends on June 16th!**
