How is everyone fairing so far with social distancing? To be honest, for me, this isn’t really any different from how my usual day to day is. I work from home, so there hasn’t been very much disruption to my daily routine. One big thing that is different is that I’ve acquired a co-worker! My husband is now working from home as well. Which is GREAT! If I could stop myself from getting distracted!

And, it isn’t like it’s his fault either. He’s in the office being good and working diligently! While I’m getting up every 20 minutes and checking on him. “Do you need some more coffee?” “How’s work going?” “Did you need anything?” I just can’t help it. Haha!

Anyway, about this weeks pattern. We’re getting spring weather now and you know what happens predominately in the spring! WEDDINGS!! So, I wanted to make a pattern for all those brides to be out there. But, of course, this shawlette can be use for any occasion. And, made in a variety of colors. It’s perfect for making a prom dress a little warmer or that spring Homecoming dress pop just a little more!

About This Shawlette:

Knitting is not only what I’ve chosen as my career, it’s also my yoga and total relaxation space. So, when I was getting ready to tie the knot with my hubby, I knew I wanted to create something that went with my dress. But, I needed it to be something easy as to not stress me too much before the big day, but still so very elegant in style.

This shawl is what I came up with. It is created by knitting straight with a lovely but simple lace stitch pattern. Once you’ve got it knitted out, you can add a pretty button and be done OR I also have very simple crochet finishing directions as well. I barely knew how to crochet when I made this shawlette, so the finishing is beginner friendly! Even someone who has never crocheted before can figure it out!

The sample is knit in Caron Simply soft, which is a weight 4 Aran yarn, but really it feels like a weight 3 DK depending on the needles you use. You can use most any yarn you’d like for this shawl, just check your gauge so you get the size you really want.

As for sizing, it is very easy to get the size you want. I have outlined approximations for sizes S - 3XL, but to get the perfect fit, knit the shawl until you can comfortably wrap it around you shoulders where you’d like to wear it! Simple right!

I added only one button to mine as I wanted it to come apart in the front to show my dress, but you can always add more to make the front close more.

HAPPY KNITTING!
